Create a Navigator Account
Admin users can add a Navigator account to RI UHIP. Use this guide to set up a Navigator account.
From the Home Page access the Admin Dashboard screen and click on the Add a Navigator Account link. |
To add a Navigator account, it first needs to be “primed”. In this context, to prime an account means to prepare it for creation by entering the Navigator’s name, certification number, date of certification, agency name and agency certification number. Refer to the Prime Navigator and Broker Accounts user guide for step-by-step instructions to complete this procedure. |
Process Steps
To add a Navigator account:
1. Click on the Add a Navigator Account link in the Navigator/Broker section on the Admin Dashboard screen.
· The Navigator Account Setup screen is displayed.
2. Enter the Navigator’s first name in the First Name textbox.
3. Enter the Navigator’s last name in the Last Name textbox.
4. Enter the Navigator’s certification number in the Certification Number textbox.
The Navigator’s information entered in the Navigator Account Setup screen must exactly match the information used to prime the account.

5. Click Next.
· The Confirm Information screen is displayed.
6. Review the Navigator’s personal information in the Personal Information section. This information is not displayed to customers.
7. Enter the Navigator’s information for display in the Detailed Information for Display section:
a. Enter the Navigator’s address in the Address textboxes.
b. Select the Navigator’s gender from the Gender drop down menu.
c. Enter the Navigator’s phone number in the Phone Number textbox.
d. Enter the Navigator’s email address in the Email Address textbox.
e. Enter the Navigator’s website in the Website textbox.
f. Enter the Navigator’s secondary phone number in the Secondary Pone Number textbox.
g. Check the box(es) to select the Navigator’s spoken language(s).
h. Check the box(es) to select the Navigator’s hours of availability.
8. Click Next.
· The Confirm Information screen is displayed.
9. Review the information and click Next.
· The Create an Account – What to Expect screen is displayed.
10. Click Begin.
· The Create Account screen is displayed.
11. In the Username and Password section enter:
a. Username
b. Password
c. Re-enter password
12. In the Security Questions section, select three security questions from the drop down menu and enter their answers in the respective textboxes.
13. Check the textbox to acknowledge the User Acceptance Agreement.
14. Check the textbox to provide Consent for Access to Data.
15. Click Next.
· The Verify Your Identity screen is displayed.
16. Review the text on the screen, that reads: “The information you provide here will be checked for accuracy against a database maintained by Experian, a company that also performs credit checks. Please note that your credit will not be checked as part of this secure process. Your information will not be used for any other purpose.”
17. Enter the Navigator’s date of birth of in the Date of Birth textbox in the format MM/DD/YYY.
18. Enter the Navigator’s social security number in the Social Security Number textbox in the format XXX-XX-XXXX.
19. Click Next.
· If the Navigator’s Social Security Number and Date of Birth are validated against the external data base, three experience questions are displayed.
Note that for setting up a Navigator account, the Navigator’s SSN (not the Navigator’s TIN) is required and verified against the Federal Data Hub. |
20. Select the radio button to answer the questions. These answers are validated against the Federal Data Hub.
21. Click Next.
· The Admin View of the Navigator Dashboard screen is displayed.
Results of the Procedure
A Navigator account is created in RI UHIP.
