Create a New Master Client Index (MCI) Number

 

Use this user guide to create a new number in the Master Client Index for an individual not yet in the MCI database. A worker can only act on an MCI task if it has been assigned to him or her.

 

 

 

 

 

From the Home Page access the Admin Dashboard screen. Click the Tasks tab, then, click the View My Tasks button.

 

Process Steps

 

To create a new MCI number and assign it to an account:

 

1.      Click the Tasks tab in the Admin Dashboard.

 

·        The Tasks tab is displayed.

 

2.      Click the View My Tasks button to only display tasks assigned to you.

 

Tasks that are assigned to you are displayed when you click on the View My Tasks tab. To assign an MCI task to yourself refer to the Assign Tasks  user guide.

 

3.      Enter search criteria to search for the account holder requiring a new number in the MCI:

 

a.      Enter the account holder’s first name in the First Name textbox.

 

b.      Enter the account holder’s middle name in the Middle Name textbox.

 

c.      Enter the account holder’s last name in the Last Name textbox.

 

d.      Enter the account holder’s zip code in the Zip Code textbox.

 

e.      Enter the account’s ID number in the Account ID textbox.

 

f.       Select MCI from the Type drop-down menu.

 

g.     Select the MCI’s status from the Status drop down menu. Options are:

 

                                                    i.     New

 

                                                   ii.     Review – In Progress

 

                                                  iii.     Closed – Resolved

 

                                                 iv.     Closed - Unresolved

 

h.      Select the MCI’s priority from the Priority drop-down menu. Options are:

 

                                                    i.     High

 

                                                   ii.     Medium

 

                                                  iii.     Low

 

i.       Enter the name of the worker who last acted on the MCI in the Name of Worker textbox.

 

j.       Enter the ID of the worker who last acted on the MCI in the Worker ID textbox.

 

k.      Check the box(es) to select the Eligibility Results of the account. Options are:

 

                                                    i.     Medicaid

 

                                                   ii.     QHP/APTC/CSR

 

                                                  iii.     Mixed Household

 

                                                 iv.     Not Determined

 

None of the fields to enter/select search criteria is mandatory; however, at least one must be selected or entered for the search to be completed.

 

 

4.      Click the Search button.

 

·        MCI tasks that match the search criteria are displayed for review. A worker can only act on MCI tasks that have been assigned to him/her.

 

5.      Locate the account associated with the MCI check and click the MCI link under the Type column.

 

·        The MCI Search Results screen is displayed.

 

6.      If there is no match on the MCI search results, click the Create New button to create a new MCI for the individual.

 

·        The MCI Creation Confirmation screen is displayed.

 

7.      Click Next.

 

·        The Tasks tab is displayed.

 

8.      To assist the individual to complete the application, locate the account and access the Admin View of the Individual Account Dashboard using the procedure described in the Search for an Account user guide.

 

·        The Admin View of the Individual Account is displayed.

 

9.      Click the Continue Where I Left Off button on the dashboard.

 

·   Follow the procedure outlined in the Submit an Application user guide to continue with the application.

 

 

Results of the Procedure

 

A new MCI number is created and associated with an individual.
